I always treated writing as a profession, never as a hobby. If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will.
To keep strong, I have found that it helps to have a hobby that takes your mind off of everything. For some it could be making music or dancing or cooking or painting, but for me it is writing and I don’t mean writing on here, well not just on here, but also writing stories.
Writing stories helps to put all the hurt and the pain into it. They also hold a bit of me in them and it helps to put in what I want into the stories. Writing helps to take away all the stress and the worry that I go through. It helps by stealing away a few hours, up to a day and it helps to make me think about what I want in life.
I write mostly supernatural based stories and it helps me because I can dream up whatever I want. I can be who I want at least for a few hours a day or even on the go. So dream about the future, dream about your life and keep your hobby alive, but don’t let it control your life.
Now, I would like, if I may, to show you a part of the beginning of one of my stories and through this blog I will show you more of this story called “Gifted Goddess.”
Crimson was a Greek goddess, created by 12 of the 13 most powerful Gods and Goddesses. She was created to watch us, the 21st century and to stop Hades from overthrowing Zeus. However, on her 16th birthday, Hades found out and so, to punish Zeus he sent Crimson down to Earth to live a normal, human life.
Poor Crimson’s life will never be the same again and she has to be put to the test to see if she is worthy enough to reclaim her birth right, or has humanity got to her? Especially love.
Chapter 1: What I was
I always knew I was different from other people. I knew that I didn’t belong, that I was, well odd. But, I never thought that I would be so different as to be a Goddess. That’s right, a Goddess. A Greek one and no, I’m not a demigod and no, I’m not a Goddess that you would know. So, don’t bother looking me up.
The Gods’ called me Crimson, after the colour of my hair. I was made by the 12 main Gods’:
I was made for two purposes and two only, to keep Hades in line and to watch as humanity changed. You see, the Gods’ were having trouble with 21st Century people, something about they never listened and that they were too technological to be religious. So, they made me, a child born to watch the 21st Century.
I will add more in posts later, if this is liked enough 🙂
Writing is a dreadful labor, yet not so dreadful as Idleness.
